Is this allowed, given Common Worship is copyright?
Yes. The Church of England permits local non-commercial reproduction of Common Worship texts in parish service booklets, on five conditions: the text is unaltered, the copies are not sold, your parish name is on the front cover, no more than 500 copies are made from one original, and the correct acknowledgement is included. Which lectionary and calendar does it follow?
The Common Worship principal service lectionary — the Revised Common Lectionary as the Church of England uses it — with the Church of England's calendar, including the Sundays before Lent, the Kingdom season, and principal feasts that fall on Sundays.
Do we have to use your wording?
No, and most parishes do not. Traditional-language texts are built in ready to use; for contemporary services you paste the texts your parish is authorised to use, once, and they are reused every week. Your wording, our typesetting.
What do we need in order to print it?
Any office printer or photocopier that prints A4 double-sided. The booklet arrives already imposed: print, flip on the short edge, fold, and staple if you like. See printing a booklet.
We are not very technical. How hard is the setup?
The initial setup is two questions — which season, and traditional or contemporary language — and then a walk through the order of service including or omitting each part. After that, producing Sunday's booklet is choosing hymns, pasting the psalm and pressing print. A churchwarden who can use email can do it.
Which hymn books does it know?
Hymn suggestions currently reference Complete Anglican Hymns Old and New, with more hymnals to follow. You can type any hymn in by hand, from any book.
Can more than one person use the account?
Yes. The price is per parish, not per person, so the vicar, the parish administrator and the organist can all use it.
What happens to our booklets if we stop subscribing?
The PDFs you have already downloaded are yours and stay on your computer. Your saved plans and texts remain in the account, and printing clean PDFs stops.
Does it do funerals and weddings?
Not yet. SundayHQ is built around the Sunday eucharist and the lectionary. Occasional offices work differently and are not what this does today.
Do you store our congregation's data?
No. SundayHQ holds your parish's account, your service texts and your plans. There is no congregation database and no personal data about anyone but the account holders. See the privacy policy.
